DayLite Films is a finalist for a Lone Star Emmy for a Texas Rangers commercial.
Independent film producer/director Andrew Day said winners of the Lone Star Emmy Awards will be determined Nov. 11.
“It would be cool if I win,” he said. He previously has won two Rocky Mountain Emmys as a producer.
He produced and directed four commercials for the Rangers two years ago and was hired again this season.
The finalist commercial is a spoof on an original Netflix science fiction program, “Stranger Things” where objects float in the hands of a girl named Eleven.
Lone Star Emmy Chapter is one of 19 as part of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
He has operated Daylite Films since 2004. After studying media arts at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, he earned a bachelor of fine arts in film production from the University of Arizona.
He later studied writing at the University of California at Los Angeles’ (UCLA) Graduate School.
Living and working in L.A. was not a good fit so Day returned home to open his own film production business. He has worked with the Kansas City Royals and produced economic development and tourism commercials for the town.
Day can be contacted at daylitefilms@hotmail.com or 602-319-4041.
