Fountain Hills Theater has announced auditions for the upcoming musical “Oliver!,” playing July 12-28.
In this musical based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel “Oliver Twist,” the streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a workhouse orphan, escapes and finds himself among a group of child pickpockets led by the cunning Fagin, a press release read.
When Oliver is captured, fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the love of a family.
“Oliver!” performs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., July 12-28. “Oliver!” is directed by Fountain Hills Youth Theater Alumnus Kyla Druckman and presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International.
Auditions are held Saturday, May 18, at 12 noon and Sunday, May 19, at 6 p.m.
Callbacks (if required) are Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m.
“Oliver!” is casting roles for ages eight-60.
