A woman walked into the Fountain Hills station for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to report she had been assaulted by her husband on Sunday, Oct. 8.

She told deputies he had drunk an excessive amount of beer over the weekend and began yelling at her, pushing and grabbing her by the neck to throw her to the ground.

The woman explained the physical altercations had been ongoing previously, but this was the first incident since July, when they began counseling sessions.

She told deputies that after an incident in July she told her husband she would call the police if he ever touched her again. It was after that they began the counseling.

The woman was directed to the court to file paperwork for an order of protection.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 10, deputies were called to the FireRock Country Club guard gate for a report that several unidentified men were attempting to gain access to the community. They said they were attempting to contact a woman who lives in the neighborhood. She told security she did not wish to see or talk with them.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 11, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone stole her purse while she was in the Safeway store.

*On Friday, Oct. 13, deputies were called to the Fountain Hills Safeway for a report of a former employee who was shoplifting from the store.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, a Fountain Hills woman called to report her juvenile son had been drinking. Per her request, deputies cited the son for underage consumption of alcohol.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, deputies responded to a report of windows broken in the front door of a residence in the 15000 block of Sunburst Drive. The front door was open, but it was not clear whether anyone had entered the home. This was the first of three incidents reported in the neighborhood.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, another resident of the 15000 block of Sunburst reported damage to the front door of his house.

*A third resident on Sunburst Drive reported someone had damaged his garage door, striking it with a vehicle.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, a resident of the 14000 block of Fountain Hills Boulevard reported damage to their mailbox.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, deputies responded to a report of a non-injury accident on Shea Boulevard at Monterey Drive. A vehicle heading east on Shea was struck by a vehicle pulling from a driveway on Shea.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, deputies received a report of a hit and run accident on Goldfield Road off the Beeline Highway. The victim reported he was struck by a vehicle passing on the roadway and went off the road. He was not injured.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, deputies received a report that someone had struck a parked vehicle in the area of Shea Boulevard and Monterey Drive and drove off after the accident.

*On Sunday, Oct. 15, a Phoenix woman was stopped for a speeding violation and was cited for driving with a suspended license and having no proof of insurance.

*On Saturday, Oct. 14, a male subject is believed to have removed approximately $300 from a tip jar from a Fountain Hills restaurant.

*On Monday, Oct. 16, a resident of the 28000 block of N. 146th Street reported a burglary with a Rolex watch and an air rifle missing.

*On Thursday, Oct. 12, deputies made a traffic stop for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard which led to the discovery that the driver was driving a vehicle with a suspended license plate. He was also cited for having no insurance.

*On Sunday, Oct. 15, a Fountain Hills man reported his mountain bike stolen from in front of the Safeway store.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 17, deputies were called to the Fountain View Village assisted living campus where it was reported that two young men were driving around the facility using a golf cart owned by Fountain View Village. The golf cart was found where it belonged with no damage. The employees reported similar incidents had happened before.

*On Monday, Oct. 2, a man reported someone had removed a personal check from a public mailbox in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 17, a Glendale woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant for shoplifting in Phoenix. She was driving through Fountain Hills when she was stopped for speeding.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 18, a Fountain Hills man was cited and released after he failed to stop for a stop sign. He was also driving with a suspended license and driving with a suspended license plate.

*On Wednesday, Oct. 18, deputies received a report of two male subjects smoking marijuana in the area of Malta Drive and Warbler Way. Deputies found the two sitting on the curb. One told deputies he had a medical marijuana card, but later said that was a lie. Both subjects are Fountain Hills residents. One was charged with use of marijuana and the second was charged with possession of marijuana, use of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
