Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Fountain Hills Bashas’ store on Friday, Aug. 18, for a reported assault.

Deputies were told that a Fort McDowell woman had assaulted her boyfriend after the two got into an argument in the store.

The man was allegedly struck in the face by the woman.

Store surveillance video confirmed the report. Deputies submitted the report to the Fountain Hills Municipal Court for charging.

*On Tuesday, Aug. 15, a Tempe man reported he was run off the road by a vehicle as he was riding northbound on McDowell Mountain Road. He said the driver of a white truck with a utility work bed crossed from the southbound lane and intentionally forced him off into the desert. He did not get a look at any names or signs on the truck.

*On Wednesday, Aug. 16, a resident reported someone had broken into their home between July 23 and Aug. 16 and ransacked the residence. The items they immediately noticed missing were a television, jewelry and computers.

*On Saturday, Aug. 19, a Scottsdale woman was stopped for speeding on Saguaro Boulevard near Ledferd Lane. She was cited for the speed violation as well as having no proof of insurance and driving with a suspended license. She was cited and released. The vehicle was impounded.

*On Thursday, Aug. 17, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse while she was taking a morning walk around Fountain Park. The vehicle was parked on Panorama Drive east of Saguaro. The purse contained bank cards, a driver license and cash. She later reported there were attempts to use the bank cards.

*On Thursday, Aug. 17, a resident of the 11000 block of Royal Court reported someone broke into his vehicle and stole Wi-Fi routers and modems as well as Blu-ray equipment.

*On Saturday, Aug. 19, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle accident with a driver leaving the scene on Shea Boulevard at Center Drive. The accident was a minor rear-end at the traffic light. As one driver pulled into the Target parking lot the second continued east on Shea. That driver was followed by a witness on a motorcycle that pulled the driver over at the Comfort Inn. The driver was cited for leaving the scene, failure to control and failure to provide information at an accident.

*On Sunday, Aug. 20, a resident reported someone had stolen prescription medications and an iPod from his vehicle parked in the 14000 block of Agave.

*On Friday, Aug. 11, a man staying at a Fountain Hills hotel reported his backpack was stolen as he was visiting family. He was uncertain where it went missing and he had not been able to locate it at the hotel.

*On Monday, Aug. 21, a man reported that an unknown person had opened multiple lines of credit using his identification and Social Security number.

*On Monday, Aug. 21, a Fountain Hills woman reported packages being delivered to her home of items she had not ordered.

*On Monday, Aug. 21, a Superior, Ariz. man was stopped for speeding on Shea Boulevard and was also cited for his vehicle displaying a suspended license plate.

*On Monday, Aug. 21, deputies responded along with the Fountain Hills Fire Department for a report of a man down along Shea Boulevard just east of Palisades Boulevard. They found the man initially unresponsive, but medics were able to revive him for questioning. The man was from Cave Creek and declined medical attention. As deputies searched him before giving him a courtesy ride he was found to have more than three grams of methamphetamine on him. He was arrested and booked for possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

*On Friday, Aug. 18, deputies were called to the Safeway store regarding a shoplifter. A man who was identified as a former employee of the store reportedly took some meat products and reading glasses without paying.

*On Tuesday, Aug. 22, a Fountain Hills resident reported someone had stolen a swimming pool vacuum from their back yard. The theft was discovered by the pool technician coming to service the pool. The sweep is valued at $400.
