Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Fountain Hills Safeway store on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when a woman reported she was assaulted outside the store by another woman.

The victim told deputies she and the suspect had a brief exchange of words inside the store at the checkout line, but she is not sure what triggered the attack.

The victim said as she left the store the suspect came up behind her and grabbed her by the arm, causing bruising.

Deputies did not locate the suspect.

*On Monday, Oct. 30, a Fountain Hills woman reported receiving a threatening text message from a previous work acquaintance.

*On Monday, Oct. 30, deputies received a report of a burglary from a hotel room in the 12000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. The victim said a wallet, clothing and sunglasses were stolen with a total value of approximately $500.

*On Tuesday, Oct. 31, deputies received a report of a burglary at the EVIT educational facility on Calaveras Avenue. Camera equipment valued at $5,500 was reported stolen. Officials believe access may have been made through the roof. The next day, Wednesday, Nov. 1, deputies were called back when a high clerestory window above the roof was discovered broken.

*The Fountain Hills Target store reported two incidents of shoplifting on Saturday, Oct. 28, and Monday, Oct. 30. It was reported that two female subjects, believed to be the same people in both incidents, removed electronic products with a total value of $2,224 from both incidents.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 1, deputies received a report of damage to construction equipment parked at a site in the 16000 block of E. Greythorn Drive in Maricopa County. A widow had been broken.

*On Thursday, Nov. 2, a Peoria woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant after she was stopped for speeding on McDowell Mountain Road. She was taken into custody and transferred to county jail.

*On Friday, Nov. 3, someone forced open a storage unit at a residential complex in the 14000 block of Boxwood Lane. Several similar incidents have been reported recently at the same complex.

*On Friday, Nov. 3, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious woman in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Shea Boulevard. She kept changing location over a period of about two hours. Her responses to questioning were incoherent and deputies processed her for possible DUI. She was given a ride home by a Crisis Team member.

*On Saturday, Nov. 4, a Fountain Hills man was arrested for disorderly conduct for fighting and yelling in a residential neighborhood in the 14000 block of Briarwood Drive.

*On Sunday, Nov. 5, a Fountain Hills man was stopped for a traffic violation in the 13000 block of Saguaro Boulevard. Deputies found a warrant for his arrest. He also faces new charges for driving with a suspended license, possession of narcotics and possession of dangerous drugs.

*On Monday, Nov. 6, deputies received a report that someone damaged a door at a business in the 16000 block of Laser Drive. The owner did not believe anything was taken.

*On Monday, Nov. 6, deputies responded to the 15000 block of Cholla Drive for a single vehicle accident. The driver went off the road and across landscaping before crashing into a block wall. The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation of possible injuries. Deputies are investigating for possible DUI pending a lab analysis of a blood draw, and issued a citation for failure to control vehicle to avoid a collision.

*On Monday, Nov. 6, deputies responded to a report of a verbal altercation and possible stabbing in the 16000 block of Almont Drive. The subjects told deputies they were simply having an argument that got too loud. There had been no physical contact. No one was charged in this incident.

*On Tuesday, Nov. 7, officials at the Boys & Girls Club on Calaveras Avenue reported finding a substance in a plastic container hidden in a drain pipe that might be marijuana. Deputies believe the substance to be marijuana and searched the campus for other possible stashes. Nothing else was found.

*On Wednesday, Nov. 8, a Scottsdale woman was stopped for speeding on McDowell Mountain Road and was found to have a suspended license plate on the vehicle.

*On Monday, Nov. 6, a resident of the 14000 block of Kings Way reported damage to their mailbox lock.
