Eight health and wellness workshops will be offered by Chamber member businesses at the Community & Health Expo in the Community Center.

This year’s expanded event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the Community Center. Admission and parking are free for the public.

Each 50-minute seminar will be free. Online registration in advance of the event is requested at bit.ly/2P5Qhqf.

In addition to the new seminars this year, the expo will provide the normal business booths in the lobby and ballroom, food samplings from Papa Murphy’s and Tonto Verde Golf Club, freebies and give-a-ways.

Normally, the annual event involves more than 60 businesses such as financial planning, pest control, real estate, restaurants and dentists.

Fountain Hills Hearing Health is the major sponsor. Owner Dr. Martin Case will speak at 4 p.m. in the Pima Room about “What everyone should know about their ears - The Ear connected to the What? The things they don’t tell you or want you to know about ears, and the memoirs of an audibly sound crusader.”

The schedule of seminars, including the time, topic, sponsoring business and room assignment is:

*“Preparing for a medical emergency” with SkyMed, Navajo Room, 3 p.m.

*“When your home is no longer sweet home,” by MorningStar, Pima Room, 3 p.m.

*“Weightless strategies that work,” Desert Fountain Medical, Yavapai Room, 3 p.m.

*“Fall prevention,” by Sarah Cooper, physical therapist at Fountain View Village, Navajo Room, 4 p.m.

“Movement for longevity,” by Spooner & Shaft Physical Therapy, Pima Room, 5 p.m.

“Stem cell therapy and joint pain,” with Desert Fountain Medical, Yavapai Room, 5 p.m.
