Posted
The Town Council has a busy agenda set for its Tuesday, June 19, regular session as it prepares to wrap up for a two-month summer recess.
The council will hold a public hearing and consider a request for a special use permit for the installation of a cellular antenna system on the roof of the Park Place development on Avenue of the Fountains.
Verizon wireless is the applicant and the equipment is to improve cellular service as well as provide WiFi service to the downtown area.
The proposed equipment would exceed the allowable 54-foot height limit by 2.4 feet at one location.
Another public hearing will be held as the council considers a request for a rezoning of property at Saguaro Boulevard and Desert Vista. The requested change, from C-2 to C-3, will allow for the development of an auto sales facility on the lot.
The council is looking as approving several contracts for services in preparation for the beginning of the new fiscal year. The agreements include $50,000 to Sunline Contracting for pavement marking work. This is an annual renewal up to five years at a maximum total of $300,000; $45,100 to Power Tech Contracting for traffic signal maintenance and emergency call out services. This is also a five year aggregate agreement for a maximum total of $225,500; $20,000 for Interwest Supply for signs and hardware; and Maricopa County Animal Care and Control for $19,698.
