Posted
Representatives of EPCOR Water, which serves Fountain Hills, will meet with the public on Monday, Nov. 27, to explain its new rate application to the Arizona Corporation Commission and the proposal for consolidation of the 11 water and wastewater utilities in operates in Arizona.
The meeting will take place at the Fountain Hills Community Center from 6 7:30 p.m.
The ACC ordered EPCOR to submit a new rate application by July of 2018 and stipulated that consolidation should be included as an option for review. The application was submitted in August and will take about one year to process. The last rate review for Fountain Hills was completed in 2014, which was based on 2012 data.
The 11 companies operated by EPCOR range in size from 600 connections at Tubac to 45,000 for the Agua Fria district in the West Valley. The Chaparral District that includes Fountain Hills has 14,000 connections. If consolidation is approved it would create a utility with 140,000 customers.
Customers were mailed notices and information regarding the meeting and proposed consolidation.
