The eighth annual Day for Kids will be held this Saturday, Sept. 15, at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Mary Ellen and Robert McKee Branch in Fountain Hills.

The fun family event will be held indoors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the facility located adjacent to Four Peaks Park and EVIT.

The Kiwanis family in Fountain Hills and the McKee Branch are teaming up to offer the play adventure.

There will be plenty of inflatables, interactive games, free food and refreshments, snow cones and more at the fun-filled event.

Besides the McKee Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Kiwanis family groups assisting with the event are the Noon Kiwanis Club, Sunset Kiwanis Club, Kiwanis Lite, Key Club, Builders Club and K-Kids.

There is no cost to participate.

“We invite kids of all ages to come with their parents and have a great time,” said Lauren Stratton, branch director for the Boys & Girls Club. “You don’t have to be a member or anything like that. The event is open to the entire community.”

The Fountain Hills Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition will have information to distribute, urging parents to sign up for the Safe Homes Network while handing out other drug prevention materials.

In addition, Thrivent Financial will have its Child ID machine onsite, which provides laminated information cards to parents with vital information regarding their children, which can be used in case of an emergency. There is no cost for a Child ID kit. Thrivent Financial representatives Mike Scharnow and Jerrod Stearnes will be on hand to distribute child IDs and answer questions.
