MCSO investigating fatal pedestrian accident in FH

A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle as he was walking along Palisades Boulevard at Hampstead Drive at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17. The scene is across from Fountain Hills High School but school officials say there were no students involved.

According to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office the victim was an elderly man and the driver remained on the scene. Palisades Boulevard was closed between Golden Eagle Boulevard and Mountainside Drive to allow the Sheriff's Office to complete its investigation. The street was still closed at 10:30 a.m. and it was uncertain when it might be reopened to traffic.

MCSO has not released the name of the victim.
