Stores trim Thanksgiving, Black Friday hours
Posted
Both Target and Sears HomeTown Store are offering shoppers a breather on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
Target in Four Peaks Plaza will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, and close at midnight. The stores will then reopen at 6 a.m., Friday, Nov. 24, and stay open until 10 p.m.
In previous years, the retailer remained open straight through the night.
Like many national retailers, Target is trying to figure out what makes sense for its customers. The impact of online shopping undoubtedly plays into the decision.
By closing to the public at midnight Friday, employees have a chance to refresh merchandise for the Black Friday shoppers.
For the first time, when customers spend $50 on the day after Thanksgiving, they will receive a coupon for 20 percent off a future shopping trip. Nearly all of Target’s Friday online deals will be eligible for pickup at the store.
Sears Hometown
Sears HomeTown Store will be closed Thanksgiving Day, a store spokesman said.
The store is located at 13212 N. Saguaro Blvd., suite 104.
Hours on Black Friday, Nov. 24, will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
