Weather system leaves welcome rain

The wet weather front that passed through the community on Wednesday into early Thursday left about a quarter of an inch around Fountain Hills
Rainfall amounts collected by the Maricopa County Flood Control District ALERT stations scattered around town ranged from .28-inch at the sites nearest the McDowell Mountains to .16-inch at the Palisades Boulevard Fire Station #1 and .12-inch at McDowell Mountain Park and the same along McDowell Mountain Road.
Town staff reported .26-inch at Fountain Park and a rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive collected .28-inch.
