Day for Kids is Saturday

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch is teaming up with Noon and Sunset Kiwanis to once again host a “Day for Kids,” running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 23.

This free local event will be hosted out of the local McKee branch and include inflatables, food, games and prizes. Thrivent Financial will also have its Child ID machine handy, which provides laminated information cards to parents with vital information regarding their children, which can be used in case of an emergency. There is no cost for the Child ID kit.

Local families are encouraged by organizers to stop by and enjoy a day of fun games and exciting activities.

Along with Boys & Girls Club personnel, the event will be staffed by members of the High School Key Club, eager to help local youngsters and their parents have some fun and make some memories.

According to Branch Director Lauren Stratton, Day for Kids is a special celebration dedicated to making a difference in the lives of youngsters. She added that the local club is always excited to open its doors to the community.

After this year’s Day for Kids, Stratton said the goal is that everyone leaves the club exhausted from a day of fun.

“I hope our families leave reminded that the club is a positive, safe place for their kids to learn and grow and that those unfamiliar with the club have a better understanding of the opportunities the club provides the youth in our community,” she said.
