Sueann Day has been named the Four Peaks Rotary Club’s Teacher of the Month for September.

Input from local principals helps the Four Peaks Rotary Club recognize teachers on a monthly basis throughout the school year. In addition to the recognition, the club provides a $250 check for the teacher’s use.

Criteria for selecting the Teacher of the Month include: Has the respect of students, parents, and peers; brings out the best in each student regardless of individual academic ability; is actively involved in providing and promoting high quality educational opportunities for students in Fountain Hills.

Fountain Hills High School principal, Dr. Cain Jagodzinski, recently shared with the club why he nominated Day for Teacher of the Month.

Jagodzinski highlighted Day’s “amazing year in 2017/18,” as she helped guide the school’s math department in strides for both the Beyond Textbook initiative and student achievement.

“Ms. Day helped students find success in algebra and test scores showed massive growth as a result of the skills they attained throughout the school year,” Jagodzinski said. “Overall, FHHS had tremendous growth in math and Ms. Day’s leadership and willingness to help students made these accomplishments possible.
