Brook Neilson Douglas

Posted

Brook Neilson Douglas went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. He was born in Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada on Aug. 30, 1962. He is survived by his parents, Melba and Paul Douglas as well as brothers, Stephen, Jay, and Andrew and sister, Abby.

Brook is the loving father to three sons, Scott, Parker and Vaughn. Nieces and nephews include, Christopher, Isabelle, Chelsea, Paige, Angus, Liam, Phoebe, Kueni Lillione, Jenson, Cole, Megan, Ryan, Sierra, Mollie, Nathan and Rachel.

Earlier in his adulthood, Brook worked at Pacific Coast Steel as an iron worker and foreman. For the last twelve years, he has resided in Fountain Hills with the love of his life, Yvonne Wyman. Anyone who was close to Brook knew of his deep and genuine love for Yvonne and hers for him. During this time they were also partners in several Fountain Hills based businesses, including Fantasia Interiors and Progressive Floor Coverings. Along with Yvonne, he was also the co-managing member for a start-up furniture manufacturing company named Sitsation.

Brook was one of a kind and larger than life. He loved to mentor people, tell great stories and a good joke. His depth of knowledge, including obscure facts was astounding. He loved the ocean and surfing was a life-long passion. Those that were closest would attest to his kind nature and how he was always thoughtful to remember special occasions or remembrances. He genuinely had a marvelous impact on so many people and this even extended to his customers.

Brook was also known to many locals as the guy who drove around in his pick-up with his two beloved dogs, Man and Blazer in the back. He would often refer to himself as a “motor-head” as he had both broad knowledge and passion for vintage cars. With his passing, NASCAR lost one of their biggest fans.

He will be missed immensely by so many people. God needed him and we can accept that, but we will never forget his kind soul.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 at noon at 5350 E. McLellan Road, Mesa, AZ. 85205 with light refreshments after.

All who wish to celebrate the life of Brook are invited to attend. Donations in Brook’s name may be made to Autism Speaks or Make a Wish Foundation.
