Sidra Anne Luciano

Posted

Sidra Anne (Iannetta) Luciano of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully, at home, with her loving husband by her side on March 13, 2016, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

A native of Providence, R.I., Sidra was born on July 5, 1949 to the late Joseph and Mary Anne Iannetta. Her sister, Marie I. Almy, preceded her in death.

An avid reader and gardener, Sidra also enjoyed traveling, playing golf and talking politics with friends. And she rarely missed a sports broadcast, particularly if it involved the Red Sox, Patriots or Bruins. In the early morning hours, she would be out either power walking, biking or going to the gym with her girlfriends.

She had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her beloved greyhounds, which were next to her in her final hours.

Her smiling face, sunny nature and infectious laugh brought much joy to those who came to know and love her. Her presence will be greatly missed, but she will live forever in our hearts and the memories of times spent together.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Daniel A. Luciano; her two greyhounds, Kay and Amigo; brothers-in-law Donald C. Almy, David B. Luciano and his fiancé, Pamela Crocker; nieces, Donna M. Almy, Sara A. Almy; nephew Anthony J. Almy; great-nephews Thomas Baty and William Almy and great-niece Katherine Almy. Also surviving are several cousins and aunt, Eleanor Acciaioli, in addition to many lifelong friends throughout the United States and in other countries.

A celebration of Sidra’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary at 12065 North Saguaro Blvd. Fountain Hills, AZ at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Arizona Adopt A Greyhound or Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, AZ.
