A Fountain Hills Pioneer has passed.

William Miller Brown “Bill” passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, 2018. He was 98. Bill was born Dec. 15, 1919 to Anna Olson Brown, a Danish immigrant and Leslie Miller Brown, a cowboy and farmer in Kismet, Kan.

Bill was the youngest of six children, four girls and two boys.

Oliver Brown, Ruth Brown Harned, Pauline Brown Hahn, Frances Brown Wacker and Virginia Brown West are all deceased years before.

Bill was a true hero! He was a survivor of the Dust Bowl, a horse jockey, in his younger years, was a World War II B25 Tail Gunner over New Guinea and flew 55 missions. Bill was a farmer, homesteader in Ralston, Wyo. and a top real estate broker, who was one of the first salesmen to help sell the desert in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

He made Fountain Hills his home in 1973. Bill won several awards and trophies in his real estate career. Bill was also a champion high-stake poker player.

Bill always had a smile and a happy heart with a song to sing, to the delight of his wife, Trish and children. He had a zest for life especially when it came to his family.

His wife, Patricia Ann Thomas Brown, married for 54 years passed 17 years before him as well as his son, Paul Murl Brown who passed 35 years ago.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Susan Ann Brown Robb Breese, spouse, Stephen, Patti Jean Brown and partner Christopher Christopher Henson and Mary Ellen Brown Moyer. Which Bill lovingly called Suzi Q, PJ and Mary Brown; granddaughters, Alisa Brooke Nelson Felin, spouse Paul; Nicole Clella Jeanette Brown, Alexandra Patricia Davis and Maura Kathryn Moyer; grandson, Eric Scott Nelson; great grandsons, George William Felin, Alexander Kent Felin and Jaxon Knight Beverley; great granddaughter, Clara Jean Felin and daughter in law, Cristina Brown.

Bill was quoted to say, “I finally have all my three girls back together again!” with all living in Fountain Hills in the past few years.

We will miss you dad. But we know, you are dancing and singing with all your heart and soul “Somewhere over the Rainbow…”

Please join us for a Celebration of Life Saturday, March 3, 2018 form 12 to 3 p.m. open house/potluck at Susie and Stephen’s home, 15158 E. Verbena Drive. Please bring a dish to share and stories to tell. Coffee, tea and juice provided. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Valley.
