Cats...

Posted

A couple of weeks ago, two sweet kitties found themselves packed together in a small carrier and left on the stoop of a Fountain Hills resident with a note from a neighbor. The neighbor had been evicted from their home and couldn’t take the cats with them. Now the recipient of this unexpected “gift” was panicked, as she could not possibly keep the cats and had no idea how to find homes for the sweet animals.

Fortunately, she called Fearless Kitty Rescue. Fearless Kitty was able to take in these two sweet kitties because of support from Republic Services. Every homeless kitty falls under the protection of the Republic Services program operated by Fearless Kitty Rescue. Within 24 hours, both kitties were safe inside Kittyville and this Fountain Hills resident was extremely relieved and grateful. Not only were the kitties safe, but there was no expense to the resident because of the grant support.

Under the Republic Services grant, which expires this year, Fearless Kitty has been able to waive all intake fees and requirements for Fountain Hills abandoned cats and kittens. In addition, Fearless Kitty takes in the animals within 24 hours of being notified by a resident, taking priority over all other intakes scheduled to come into the facility.

Brook and Lainey have now been tested for FIV/FeLV infections, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and had their wellness exam by our veterinarian, Dr. Bashaw. Both kitties are now waiting to be adopted. With costs exceeding $200, the Republic Services funds are critical to providing services to you, the residents of Fountain Hills. Please vote for Fearless Kitty Rescue to receive the Republic Services grant for 2019. Thank you.
