Excellent record

The Town of Fountain Hills has been my home for 22 years. When my wife and I moved here, Palisades Blvd. had just been completed and the Beeline Highway had only recently been opened with a median between north and southbound lanes.

Development was going gangbusters and the town’s financial situation made it possible to plan and build a new town hall, a new community center, a new library and a new museum. Things looked pretty rosy for us then and we were truly proud of our facilities.

Fast forward through those 22 years and we still love “our” Fountain Hills. But sadly, our town’s financial situation has dramatically worsened. The development fees that nourished our ability to build that town center, pay for continued maintenance of our infrastructure and assure continued public safety dissipated. Numerous measures, including a dramatic reduction in town staff positions, still left the town in a precarious situation.

Given our financial challenges, we need town council members who not only can lead, but can be good stewards of the limited funds available to them. We need council members who will form a stronger partnership with our citizens and be open and transparent with them. We need town council members who will work to maintain the quality of life we have enjoyed for so long.

Based on his record as an incumbent town councilman, I believe that Alan Magazine is definitely one who will offer his experience and wisdom to the dais. He has an excellent record of making positive decisions for the town.
