Two things

Posted

I am fond of telling people that serving our great district in the State House is the honor of a lifetime and there isn’t anything I’d rather be doing. Yes, the hours are long, but getting to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone is truly special.

Sometimes the progress is very high-profile, like passing the 20 percent increase to teacher pay. Sometimes it is only noticed by a few people, like reforms made to the Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT, and don’t worry if you don’t know what it is, most people don’t) that generated half a million dollars a year for Fountain Hills and even more for Scottsdale. Every year other legislators make moves to grab that money and we have to fight to protect our cities.

Sometimes it’s doing really big things like keeping Arizona’s budget in balance, or keeping our economy humming, so that we can lead the nation in job growth or new start-ups. And sometimes it’s doing something smaller, like helping save the Salt River wild horses.

High-profile or low, big or small, it is always a great feeling to be able to help people. So I’ll ask two things of you. First, I’d love to receive your vote this November. And second, please contact me if there is anything I can do to help.
