In the next few days residents will be receiving a ballot in the mail which includes an incredibly important and easy decision that desperately needs our YES vote.
The Fountain Hills Unified School District is requesting your support of a Budget Override increase to the state-allowed maximum of 15 percent, from our current 13 percent.
This means we, as residents, can vote YES to provide 15 percent more of our state education budget to our district.
This extra 2 percent will help provide salary increases to our beloved teachers who are devastatingly underpaid, and to continue with crucial programs such as full-day kindergarten.
In a state where we consistently rank at the bottom of all education-related statistics such as per pupil spending and teacher pay, it is up to us to do everything we can to fill in the gaps. Give our children and teachers what they deserve, preserve our property values, preserve our future. Vote YES on the Override.
