Rio Verde holds two Blood Drives per year, one in March and the other in November.

This year Rio Verde is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, so a goal has been set for a total donation count goal of 90 individuals for either whole blood or power-red. Registrations for blood donations Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Rio Verde are a little more than half that goal.

The Rotary Club of the Verdes, chartered in December 2022, has partnered with the Vitalant Foundation to sponsor the event.

Vitalant Foundation takes pride in being more than just a blood donation organization. More information can be found at vitalant.org/support-us/vitalant-foundation.

As one of the nation’s largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies healthcare organizations, Vitalant provides hospitals and patients across the U.S. with a safe blood supply.

Vitalant is positioned to become the nation’s most innovative and inclusive blood and biotherapies partner, according to a company statement. Vitalant Foundation is the official fundraising arm of Vitalant.

The company also provides specialized laboratory services, transfusion medicine expertise and cutting-edge research. Vitalant Research Institute is world-renowned for scientific studies ranging from blood donor epidemiology to cellular therapy and virus discovery. Vitalant is an internationally known leader that continues to advance the experience, practice and application of transfusion medicine.
