Blood drive Friday, Saturday

UBS and the Noon Kiwanis Club are teaming up for the community blood drive Friday and Saturday, June 21-22.

The drive is set for both days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

To make an appointment for giving blood, contact Dr. Liz Smith at 837-2600 or (480) 206-4785 or Paul Appeldorn at 836-8213.

Walk-ins also will be accepted during the drive.

One may also visit www.bloodhero.com and enter in the sponsor code “Kiwanis.”

Organizers have announced a new “fast track” health history that will speed up the process.

The online questionnaire can be completed before arriving to the facility for blood donation.

“Donors can now complete their health history questionnaire in the comfort and privacy of their home, office or other quiet space,” said Sue Thew, in charge of marketing and communications for United Blood Services.

“This reduces the in-person interview to only a few essential follow-up questions.”

Donors complete the questionnaire online the same day as the donation and bring their printed “Fast Track Donation Ticket” to the appointment.
