Dr. Laura Metcalfe to discuss candidacy with SCW Democrats
At its monthly meeting, the Northwest Valley Democrat Club will host Dr. Laura Metcalfe, Wednesday, January 10th, 6 pm. at the Sun City West Foundation Bldg., 14465 RH Johnson Blvd in Sun City West. Please RSVP at www.northwestvalleydemocrat.com Dr. Laura Metcalfe is a candidate for Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools and will speak about her experiences that qualify her for the position. Metcalfe is an educator who came from industry to make a significant difference in education. She is passionate about supporting learning and achievement for all kids, families, the public school system, and communities. Metcalfe holds 27 years of responsible education experience, ranging from high school teacher to being elected as a district-level administrator with the East Valley Institute of Technology, Mesa, AZ. She has also worked in the Maricopa County Superintendent of Schools Office as a leader supporting all levels of schools within Maricopa County. Metcalfe earned a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University and she is certified in Arizona as a school superintendent. The club also coordinates a monthly breakfast on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Betty’s Rooste, 9 a.m. 14418 W. Meeker Blvd. in Sun City West.
