Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs.

This national program provides background information and policy options for the eight most critical issues facing America each year. Participants learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues and discuss these viewpoints in a group setting.

The program is offered on Thursdays beginning Feb. 8, through March 28, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center.

The program includes the following topics: Feb. 8-Mideast Realignment; Feb. 15-Climate Technology and Competition; Feb. 22-Science across Borders; Feb. 29-U.S. China Trade Rivalry; March 7-NATO’s Future; March 14-Understanding Indonesia; March 21- High Seas Treaty and March 28-Pandemic Preparedness.

Robert M. Baranoff is the presenter of this program. Prior to his retirement, he was responsible for the global research program of LIMRA, a not-for-profit research trade association in the financial services industry. He also oversaw the association’s research communication initiatives and, as corporate secretary, was responsible for relations with the board of directors of LIMRA and its sister organizations.

Baranoff is a former mathematics and physics instructor and graduate of Wesleyan University, where he earned both B.A. and M.A.T. degrees. He also holds an M.B.A. with dual concentrations in marketing and management science from the University of New Haven.

Pre-registration and Community Center membership is required for this program. Registration closes Thursday, Feb. 1. Call the Community Center at 480-816-5200 for more information and to register.

This program is sponsored by the Town of Fountain Hills Community Center.
