Keep incumbents

Chances are we’ll look back with a big smile on the Steve Nash era with the Suns and the Steve Jobs years with Apple.

Maybe we’ll realize that we didn’t fully appreciate them while they were with us. Such is human nature.

Our current Town Council is a case in point. They are products of the Wally Nichols era when we learned to work together and solve problems together.

Mayor Jay Schlum and Council-people Mike Archambault, Ginny Dickey and Henry Leger fit the same mold. Watching Channel 11, we see how well the citizens’ concerns are heeded and handled.

Opinion: no challenger brings enough to the party to merit un-seating any one of these highly- competent individuals.

Reference:  look down the hill at our Scottsdale brethren. They’ve been saddled with a dysfunctional City Council for years. There is no strategic plan. There is no sense of common purpose.

In Fountain Hills, we’re lucky to have both! Best to keep things intact.
