The Fountain Hills Town Council unanimously approved 14 additional roads for full reconstruction during its Sept. 1 meeting, with Councilwoman Peggy McMahon absent.
During its Feb. 3 meeting, the council approved priority treatment for this fiscal year for 21 road segments costing $3.4 million of the $6.4 million allocated by the council under its pavement maintenance fund. Those roads are currently underway as of July 1, Streets Superintendent Jeff Pierce said, and are north of Palisades Boulevard, east of Golden Eagle Boulevard and south of McDowell Mountain Road.
With $3 million remaining, the town’s pavement management system selected 14 road segments for full reconstruction. Pierce noted many of the roads are grouped together in the southeast portion of town. Out of the 14 chosen, eight are cul-de-sacs while the remainder are connecting streets.
