I couldn’t help but respond to the letter printed Wednesday, Feb. 13, by Ann Schweers in regard to abortion and the previous week’s comments on this by Tony Pierce. What Ms. Schweers and all of us really need to ask is: At what time does a human being become a life?
Always the same question. I believe a life is present upon conception. Shortly after, a heartbeat can be heard. With the New York law, an abortion can be performed after nine months of pregnancy with no waiting period, no parental involvement (both parents), and the way the baby is terminated is by injecting poison to the heart of the baby.

Mrs. Schweers, from what I have researched, you are wrong in your comments of the reasons an abortion can take place. It is not only if the mother is in danger or if the fetus is compromised. The bill, AB 6221, was passed with a resounding vote of 94-49. It will allow abortion up to nine months in pregnancy and will make it legal for a woman to have an abortion for any reason relevant to her well-being, be it physical, emotional or psychological.
Really? Emotional or psychological? This is out of control and ridiculous murder of innocents. You say it’s not. Well, my question is what if that were you that the law allowed to be killed? Could you kill a baby that is able to cry out loud after nine months of pregnancy? This is legalized murder, in my opinion.
Tony Pierce, you are so correct in your comments about all of this. I want to thank you, Tony, for stating what is the obvious. How anyone could feel differently, I just don’t get it.
