Well, the Thanksgiving Daly Parade was a success once again.

The weather couldn’t have been better. I don’t know what the official high temperature was in Fountain Hills that day, but the 87 degrees recorded at the airport tied the all-time high for Thanksgiving Day in Phoenix.

It was something to brag about to out-of-state friends and relatives when you made those Thanksgiving Day calls.

-------

We had a nice Thanksgiving. Youngest daughter Toni her husband, Jason, and their son, Camden, stayed with us for the entire week. They live in Las Vegas.

Camden is the grandchild who was born last February with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot.

As you may recall, Camden underwent open heart surgery to repair his heart in July.

The surgery was so successful that he will not have to undergo any more surgeries on his heart.

He got an excellent report on his last visit to the cardiologist. The doctor reported everything is functioning normally and the heart sounded good to him.

Camden is now nine months old and to see him you’d never know he had a heart problem. He has a unique personality. It’s as if he appreciates all that was really done for him. He’s always watching something with those big blue eyes and he’s making a lot of sounds that could mean he is starting to talk.

He is so appealing that it was difficult seeing him go home.

-------

I’ve always loved small world stories, especially ones that involve The Times. Chuck Wuttke was telling me a story at The Club a few weeks ago that hit a home run with me.

He was in Orlando, Fla., waiting for a taxi to the airport from his hotel. He was standing there reading The Times On-line on his iPad when a couple started looking over his shoulder.

The man then asked Chuck if that could be Fountain Hills, Arizona that he was reading about. Chuck answered and told him that it was indeed one in the same.

The man was excited about signing up for an on-line subscription.

The couple who said they live in the Philadelphia area said they had visited Fountain Hills a few years ago and wanted to retire there when it comes time.

Yes, it is a small world.
