When the Volstead Act circa 1920, which prohibited manufacture and transportation, but not the sale of ethyl alcohol, was repealed, few then, as now, realized its consequence.
Back then it was thought that upwards of $100 million per year would be lost to the U.S. government coffers in alcohol taxation. Really “chump change” in comparison to today’s actual several billion dollars per year in cost to the government.
“Such a deal:” ruined health, cirrhosis of the liver, brain dysfunction is what “they” achieved. Also achieved in indirect cost – of thousands upon thousands of deaths every year – due to car accidents while driving intoxicated.

Additionally what “they” achieved was alcohol-induced deaths due to gun, knife, club is more telling. Yet still this American populace does not learn; and remains in actual unabated abject stupidity.
Stupidity of those advocating for legalization of recreational use of marijuana numbs one’s sensibility as marijuana numbs one to reality.
Dumb is one thing, but unabated abject stupidity spells the end of “this democritization experiment.” Ineffective, inappropriate government is the core problem. Do not let yourself be led “down the primrose path” by inferior and unworthy individuals.
But you observe; they have “a pretty face,” so what!
