Accident injures two

The driver and a minor child were taken to hospitals Friday morning after a single vehicle accident on Palisades Boulevard just north of El Lago Boulevard.

According to Fire Chief Randy Roberts injuries to the woman driving the vehicle were serious enough that she was transported to a trauma center for treatment. The minor was taken to a Valley hospital with less serious injuries.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is investigating, but preliminary indications are the vehicle was traveling northbound on Palisades when it crossed the median and southbound lanes into the desert on the west side of Palisades. The vehicle traveled about 100 feet from the roadway before coming to a stop.
