Actions to correct water infiltration continue in Fountain Hills

Community Center work underway

The Town of Fountain Hills continues to work on issues related to stormwater infiltration into the Community Center facility. While initial repairs and short-term remedies were taken soon after the problem was discovered during a major remodel at the Community Center in 2021, ongoing efforts to mitigate the issue long-term continue.

The current effort is to address a drainage problem where excess stormwater backflows into the building under doors and windows along the south side facing the Centennial Circle.

To address the problem a contractor is removing the concrete apron outside the building and will install drainage structures and slopes to carry the water away from the building and into the stormwater removal system.
