Adero Canyon tops council agenda Feb. 6

The Town Council will consider the request for zoning and land use changes for the Adero Canyon subdivision when it meets on Tuesday, Feb. 6 in regular session.

Toll Brothers is purchasing the property from MCO Properties and is requesting a PAD over the remaining parcels. There is no significant change in housing units, but the lots will be clustered into a higher density than the current custom home plat. The increased density will create more open space within the overall parcels.

The Adero Canyon plan will also have the council consider a master plat for the site as well as a change to the development agreement. A public hearing will be held in conjunction with this discussion.

Council members Alan Magazine, Henry Leger and Nick DePorter have asked the council to consider a resolution expressing concern regarding education spending levels in particular teacher salaries.

The resolution calls on every town and city elected official in the state to adopt similar resolutions.

The council will consider a cooperative purchase agreement in the amount of $45,000 annually for bulk fuel with Synergy Petroleum. The agreement is for five years.

The council will consider a cooperative purchase agreement with Stericycle Environmental Solutions for $40,166 annually with a single one-year renewal for hazardous waste collection and disposal.

The council will consider a contract with Advantage Printing Mailing and Marketing for the “In the Loop” magazine in the amount of $15,000 per year for five years.

The council will also recognize the 2017 graduating class of the Fountain Hills Civic and Cultural Association Leadership Academy.

Prior to the regular session at 4:30 p.m. council members and all town advisory commission members are to attend a mandatory open meeting law and conflict of interest workshop with town legal staff.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. council members and the public are invited to view the Fire Department’s new ladder truck in the Town Hall parking lot.

The regular council session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

This story is based on a preliminary agenda for the meeting. By law public meetings must be officially posted 24 hours prior to the meeting time. This agenda is subject to change up to that 24-hour window.
