Adero changes

The proposed Adero Canyon changes should not be approved.

It is in the interest of everyone living in the vicinity of the proposed Adero Canyon project to oppose the requested changes. Substantial increase in traffic volume, noise and potentially obstructed access for emergency vehicles via the only open road, Eagle Ridge Drive, must be of concern.

The requested changes are in many ways conflicting with the current Fountain Hills rules and regulations. For example, the proposed 40 feet height of certain structures and hotel-type accommodations would completely change the character of the canyon.

The requested changes are in many ways conflicting with the current Fountain Hills rules and regulations. For example, the proposed 40 feet height of certain structures and hotel-type accommodations would completely change the character of the canyon.

Facilities of this nature do not belong near residential areas such as Cordabella, Hidden Valley or Eagle Ridge community.

This will lead to heavy-duty traffic and noise on Eagle Ridge Drive, including construction vehicles, and ongoing delivery and maintenance vehicles in addition to the huge increase in daily traffic.

We do not think that anyone is opposing access to the trailhead. But the outspoken proponents for the changes for the sake of trail access did not express much concern the changes would represent to all of us or to the canyon itself.

We plead with the Fountain Hills elected representatives – please do not approve the requested changes. Preserve the area as it was originally planned and approved. Many of us made the decision to move into this neighborhood based on this premise.

Thank you.
