At approximately 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, MCSO, Fountain Hills Fire Department Station 1 and the Crisis Team responded to the 15,000 block of E. Cavern Dr. for an adult drowning victim. A woman in her mid-60’s had been in the backyard pool for an undetermined amount of time. She was transported to HonorHealth Shea in full cardiac arrest with advanced life support care. No update is available at this time.
UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that the drowning victim was a 60-year-old Montana woman who was visiting her family. A relative reported the woman had gone into the pool at about 9:30 a.m. to float on a blowup pool chair. Her sister heard splashing shortly before noon, and she was subsequently found in distress with her face under water. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
