“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
This statement is generally attributed to Edmund Burke, an Irish statesman and political philosopher in the 1700s.
As with many such quotes dating back to the century in which our own nation was founded, the message has survived for hundreds of years, yet remains valid today. The major evil in current times is that of radical Islamic terrorism, the classical examples of which are the actions of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other groups proclaiming their Islamic faith as the justification for what they do. History will tell what we did to act against this evil and prevent its triumph.
