Agnes Heald

Agnes “Ann” Heald, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 20, 2018. Ann was born in Big Rapids, Mich. to Charles and Agnes Stratz on Aug. 28, 1934. She married Merrill Heald in May of 1954, and together they raised their four children in Niles and Kalamazoo, Mich.; and then retired to Fountain Hills in 2003.

She is survived by her children, Janice Louise (Kirk) of Fountain Hills, Robert Paul (Diane) of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Jean Ann (David) of Encinitas, Calif, and Roger Merrill of San Diego, Calif.

She leaves behind five grandchildren, Emily, Andrew and Lauren Kaiser and Rachel and Kelly Heald.

Also surviving are her brothers, Albert Stratz (Marilyn) and Richard Stratz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her baby, Larry Allen; brothers, Henry (Anna Marie) and Gordon (Nelda), and sister, Mary Emily (Paul) predeceased her.

Ann had a strong faith in the Catholic Church beginning with St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Big Rapids and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. She was an active member of the Church of Ascension in Fountain Hills for the past 15 years.

Ann’s life will be celebrated with funeral services in Fountain Hills on Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Ascension. Her final resting place will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek, Ariz.
