Alexander John Grzesik, 95, passed away Oct. 11, 2016.
Alex was known as “Duke” in WWII, where he was a Naval Air Force Radio Gunner First Class. He was called “Father Alex” at Continental Can Company, where he worked for 42 years because he never swore or raised his voice in anger.
Alex is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine, of 69 years; his sister, Jean of Illinois; his five children, Michael Grzesik (Linda) of Florida, Judy Pikosz (Rich) of Fountain Hills, Susie Trzaskus (Tom) of Kentucky, Jane Richards (Jim) of Illinois, and Paul Grzesik (Kim) of Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Alex is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and his five-year-old grandson, Mark.
Alex was the rock of this family and was the one we all went to for advice. He was never judgmental, gave advice willingly when asked and with much love and thought for his family.
He was an avid bowler and bingo player. Alex leaves a hole in the hearts of many.
