Alice Buhl (née Vehnekamp), 82, of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a brief illness on the 18th of August, 2017.
Alice was the matriarch of her family and a longtime resident and business owner in Belleville, Ill. Alice and her husband and business partner of more than 50 years, Richard Buhl, relocated to Fountain Hills in 1989.
Alice was a highly successful entrepreneur in the auto, restaurant and water park industries and managed the local Fountain Hills Circle-K for many years.
Alice’s incredible success and work ethic are an inspiration to others. She had a stylish enthusiasm for life, was an avid reader and passionate poker player.
Alice and her beloved husband, Richard shaped a warm caring home where all were truly welcome.
Alice is survived by her children; Kim Buhl, Bill Buhl (Cheryl), Kathy Buhl-Burks (Tim), Gina Buhl and Richard Buhl II; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Buhl; children Bruce and Karen and grandson, Aaron. She will be greatly missed.
