Alleged abduction attempt in FH

Since Tuesday, Facebook has been active with a report of an alleged attempted abduction that took place in Fountain Hills on Tuesday, Aug. 19, as well as a second report of an incident on Sunday, Aug. 17.

Reports describe a dark colored sedan with a spoiler with a man who attempted to lure two small boys with an offer of candy. The incidents reportedly occurred in the Four Peaks area near Del Cambre and Calaveras avenues.

Facebook reports indicate the incidents were reported to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. MCSO Capt. David Letourneau said they have been in contact with the mother of the young boy involved Tuesday and are investigating. He added that other reports are unverified.

Although these reports have not been verified with law enforcement, it is always a good idea to tell children not to go with strangers, and report any such incident to their parents.
