A letter provides ample fodder for rebuttal. The “Help Wanted” ad stated, “No financial, economic or governance experience required. Ability to make decisions without facts while ignoring opposition ideas and thoughts a plus. Must agree supporter’s needs and wants take precedence over what is good for the nation.”
The ad was purportedly from “Tea Party of America,” but doesn’t it shout out, “Barack Obama?” Tea partiers voicing their beliefs were vilified as “undemocratic.” When then-Senator Obama described raising the debt ceiling as “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic” in 2008, was he “undemocratic” for voicing his (tea-party-like) opinion?
The tea party has been demeaned with undeserved epithets, as the media and political elite continue to create an image of the tea party as something it is not, a fringe group of radical anarchists.

Lest we forget, the tea party supports lower taxes, free market economics, and a smaller government that actually follows the Constitution. It opposes government that oversteps its authority, overregulates, overtaxes, restricts freedom and creates unsustainable debt for generations to come.
Some see this as radical anarchy, but these views are consistently supported by the majority of Americans. Senators Cruz, Lee and Paul are attacked for fulfilling their obligation to their constituents. Should we not expect elected officials to keep their promises after the election?
Should we accept those who say anything to dupe the voters, but then implement their true agenda? Do we stand firmly on principle or surrender to soundbites, innuendo and insults? Do we espouse “pragmatism” even if it means rejecting one’s principles? Do we support what we believe or do we cower to those who claim to know better?
These are the questions that face us, the issues that threaten our freedom and prosperity. The answers will determine the fate of the miracle that is America.
