The Fountain Hills Activity Center will host a program entitled “Lines, Pictographs, Petroglyphs and Ancient Stones” at the Community Center on Thursday, March 8, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Learn about ancient rock art, standing stones, geolines and Neolithic ruins. The presentation will survey rock art in the form of pictographs painted by Native Americans in the Boundary Waters Canoe area in northern Minnesota and art in the form of petroglyphs etched in selected sites in the southwest U.S., Canada and parts of the world including the UK, Australia and Peru.
Ancient well-known megalithic monuments such as Stonehenge and the Standing Stones of Stenness will be featured in addition to an overview of the Nazca Lines.

Ancient rock art presentation

The Fountain Hills Activity Center will host a program entitled “Lines, Pictographs, Petroglyphs and Ancient Stones” at the Community Center on Thursday, March 8, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Learn about ancient rock art, standing stones, geolines and Neolithic ruins. The presentation will conclude with photographs of the most ancient stones ever recognized on our planet.
The program is presented by Dennis M. Robertson, M.D., retired from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. after working 38 years as a retinal surgeon and ocular oncologist.
Pre-registration is required. The program is free for Activity Center members with a $5 non-member fee.
