Ann Harris Gingrich, 88, of Fountain Hills passed away peacefully on April 23, 2018; six and a half days after a major stroke. Born Oct. 7, 1929, she grew up in Columbia, Mo. and went to the University of Missouri where she met her husband in her very first class. Forever a proud Kappa, she always reminded me that Meghan Markle and Jane Pauley are also Kappas.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gingrich and her daughter, Mimi Harris (also FH), she is survived by her two sons, Bob (caretaker FH) and John, and her two daughters, Jane Harris O’Keefe and Becky, and grandson Miles. Also, her loyal Zach, a Corgi-Chihuahua mix who doesn't know he’s a dog.
Many thanks to the wonderful Hospice of the Valley. Amazingly, mom got a room there at the Eckstein branch only two rooms down from where her daughter, Mimi, passed.
Practical note: to get a free Living Will (Health Care Directive) and Health Care Power of Attorney provided by the Arizona Office of the Secretary of State go to azsos.gov (tab services) and download the forms. Easy to fill out. Mom got hers notarized only six weeks before she needed them.
