Apologize

Democrat Party Legislative District 23 House candidate Tammy Caputi needs to apologize to all the voters in the district for insulting them and especially to those in the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation community for not even knowing they exist.

In her recent newspaper column (“Blind partisanship makes for bad governing system,” Arizona Republic 10/5/16, pg. 9), Tammy Caputi accused LD23 voters of exhibiting “blind partisanship,” saying they do “not understand that the people they are voting for do not represent their interests…”

In other words, she is saying that the people are ignorant and do not know what is good for them, but I do. What conceited, elitist pretense on Caputi’s part!

Later in her column, Tammy Caputi lists the district as consisting of “Scottsdale, Rio Verde and Fountain Hills.” How insulting to the residents of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, whose reservation is also in District 23.

It is truly ironic that Caputi begins her negative attack column with the question, “Where are my legislators?” Maybe a more fitting question for her would have been to ask, “Where exactly is my district?”
