Even after the holiday season, Fountain Hills still offers the community one-of-a-kind shopping events.
The Fountain Hills Art on the Avenue is held every Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., boasting nearly 30 regular vendors every week.
Art on the Avenue offers a wide array of art including crafts, wall art, jewelry, fibers, glass, pet portraits, furniture, pottery and photography.
Created 15 years ago by local art store owner Judi Yates, the Art on the Avenue invites art lovers from around the Valley. After opening her own art gallery downtown, Yates realized the Avenue offered little in the way of events to attract visiting shoppers, according to a press release from Chris Towne, who is currently interning with the Town of Fountain Hills.
Yates dedicated herself to creating a growing art scene along the Avenue where residents and visitors could eat, shop and gather midweek.
“It’s what I hoped to create, and it happened,” Yates said in a statement.
Yates says she creates lasting relationships with the artists, and their customers are her favorite part of the weekly artist exhibit, offering an outlet for artists to promote themselves and their work.
The community is invited to stop by the Art on the Avenue every Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Art on the Avenue will run through the end of April of this year.
