Arts at Ascension announced its roster of fine musicians for the 2015-16 season.

This marks the second season of Arts at Ascension. Season tickets for both priority seating and general admission are now available.

Opening the season on Nov. 13 will be the smooth piano jazz sounds of Michael Kocour.

Hailed by The Chicago Tribune as “one of the most sophisticated pianists in jazz,” Kocour has performed at venues around the world. His recordings include the soundtracks to two major motion pictures.

Soprano Carole Fitzpatrick will provide a change of pace when she performs Jan. 15, 2016.

Fitzpatrick joined the ensemble of the State Theater in Nuremberg and during her 17 years there sung over 50 major roles, from Mozart to Wagner.

The violin studio of Danwen Jiang will be represented by students who are furthering their studies at Arizona State University.

These young violinists have already been featured in numerous concert halls around the world, as well as in Arizona. They will perform Feb. 12.

The season finale will feature Daniel Paul Horn, pianist.

Horn has performed throughout North America, as well as venues as diverse as Beijing and Bermuda. As well as piano soloist, Horn also is an ardent performer with Chamber ensembles. He will perform March 11.

The Arts at Ascension concert series was formed to bring the highest level of music to Fountain Hills and north Scottsdale.

Again this year proceeds from the four concerts will be donated to the fine arts department of St. Matthew’s School, an inner-city Catholic school in Phoenix.

Last season Arts at Ascension raised more than $10,000 in support of St. Matthew’s School.

Priority seating tickets are $70 per person for the entire series. General admission tickets are $55 per person for the series. Tickets may be purchased securely at www.artsatascension.org or at the parish office.

All concerts are held at Church of the Ascension, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Blvd. For further information, phone Church of Ascension at (480) 837-9227.
