At the end of each day, when the parishioners have left and the sanctuary is quiet, The Rev. Father Jilson Panakkal can be found alone in an hour of private adoration before the blessed sacrament, praying and listening to God.
“That hour gives me the courage I need every day,” Panakkal said. “I submit everything to the Lord and I feel at ease.”
Celebrating 30 years of his priestly ordination, Panakkal says his journey has been full of excitement and challenges. As the priest at the Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, Panakkal thanks his staff, volunteers and parishioners for accepting him and making him feel like family.
