In the 1950s TV series “Gene Autry, America’s Favorite Cowboy,” the show’s attorney states in his disclaimer: “The characters and incidents portrayed and the names used herein are fictitious, and any similarity to the name, character or history of any persons is entirely accidental and unintentional.”
Gene Autry never had an episode with crooked Veterans Administration officials. Back then it was not difficult to understand why. However, his dramas had crooked doctors, crooked sheriffs, crooked lawyers, crooked judges, crooked politicians, crooked newspapermen and crooked businessmen.

Rather inclusive, and Gene saw to it that all those crooks failed. Bring your positive spirit to the task as Gene always did. And you too can cause “new crooks” to fail by being vigilant and doing whatever action items is warranted and therefore required.
Today America has arrived, so to speak, with crooked Veterans Administration officials. And that is no fiction. Very sad, this direction our country has moved toward – Degradation Gulch.
America now would be sell served to listen to Gene. Our hearts know what it means to listen to Gene. If we are vigilant, maybe the whole of America can start singing once again. Singing, “I’m back in the saddle again…” and the only law is right.
