Ava Bourne carving unique path through Fountain Hills wrestling

Bourne is first female in program to place at state

Among the last on the practice mat is senior Ava Bourne, the lone girl on the Fountain Hills wrestling team.

Bourne was first introduced to wrestling her freshman year at Skyline High School after her cousin brought her to practice, she said, and despite playing other sports growing up, she ultimately fell in love with the individuality of wrestling.
