Ava Bourne recognized by Fountain Hills Town Council

Second place finisher in high school state wrestling championships

At a recent town council meeting Fountain Hills High School student Ava Bourne was recognized for her outstanding achievement on the school’s wrestling team this past season.

Bourne earned first place in the girl’s sectional state qualifier to earn first place in the overall division.

She won three matches in her first tournament to receive the Outstanding Wrestler Award from among approximately 80 participants.

Ava Bourne recognized by Fountain Hills Town Council

Second place finisher in high school state wrestling championships

At a recent town council meeting Fountain Hills High School student Ava Bourne was recognized for her outstanding achievement on the school’s wrestling team this past season.

Bourne earned first place in the girl’s sectional state qualifier to earn first place in the overall division.

She won three matches in her first tournament to receive the Outstanding Wrestler Award from among approximately 80 participants.

With a 13-2 record going into the sectional tournament, Bourne won two matches, pinning her opponent in the championship event. She moved on to the state tournament with a 15-2 record on the season.

“Ava achieved an extraordinary feat by securing second place at the 2025 Arizona Interscholastic Association Wrestling State Championship, bringing pride and recognition to Fountain Hills,” the proclamation states. “Ava’s achievements serve as an inspiration not only to female wrestlers but to all athletes and members of the Fountain Hills Community.”
